Your first scan (30 seconds)

1. Get a light source. Open this app on an iPad or another iPhone and choose “Light Panel” to turn the screen into a white light. A light pad or a white computer screen also works.
2. Place the negative on the light. Emulsion side (the duller side) down keeps the picture the right way round.
3. Shoot from straight above. Follow the distance guide and press the shutter when the whole frame fits. The live view already shows the positive.
4. Save. Results go to the Photos app. Free: 10 per day. Pro: unlimited.

No film at hand? Show the sample negative on a computer or tablet screen and point your iPhone at it.

FAQ

Question	Answer
Colours look orange or off	Include a little of the film base (the orange area outside the frame) so it can be removed automatically, or pick the base with the eyedropper.
It won't focus	You are too close. Move back to the guided distance, or use “Macro Lock” on supported iPhones.
Stripes on the screen	That is light flicker. Set Settings → “Anti-flicker” to your mains frequency (50 Hz / 60 Hz).
I can't save the 11th scan	The free limit is 10 per day. The scan is kept as “On hold” and can be saved tomorrow or with Pro. It is never discarded.
Do I need an account?	No. There is no sign-up or login, and your scans never leave your device.
